Silverwolf has just read with great dismay, that the former world chess champion, and champion of Democracy, Garry Kasparov, has been thrown to the ground, beaten and arrested by the Russian police of Vlad Putin. A democrat and lover of Liberty, beaten for speaking non-violently in public. The crime speaks for itself. What a payback for all the years Kasparov used his incredible brain and his civil behaviour to bring glory and kudos to the Russian Peoples. The Russians must be a very stupid, ungrateful people, or very scared. But an empire like that one will surely collapse again from the inside. What is disheartening is that Putin is wildly popular in Russia, as wildly popular as Clinton was during the good economic times of his years. But economic cancers tend to take four to eight years to spread through an empire. No doubt when the oil price collapses because of the coming depression in the West, Russia will decline again. Regard the 500 year old oak, and learn from its patience. All things come to he who waits.
But there goes Silverwolf again, bashing the Russians, the Euros, the Nipponese, the Aussies and the Cannucks, but never turning his finger towards the giant mess he is living in, in the good ol’ USA. What a hypocrite, they say.
Well, that’s not really accurate cause Silverwolf has taken his share of journalistic potshots at the totalitarian mentality that has crept into both of America’s major parties, with especial scorn for the Democrats. But this is because in the good old days of Silverwolf’s puphood, the Democratic party was always on paper the party of civil liberties, the party that stood up for the Black People in the face of blatant and deadly racism, the party that was always supplying the ACLU with its best lawyers, donations, and friendly relations. The Far-Right tried to smear them as communists and socialists, but the Liberal Democrats were staunchly in the tradition of Tom Jefferson, John Locke, and the Founding Fathers as far as their defence of Freedom of Speech and the Press as guaranteed in the Bill of Rights and the Declaration. But let’s look at the Democrats in the here and now.
After passing a whole series of Bills which castrate the guarantees of individual rights and liberties warranted by the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution, the Democrats have signed onto a new one, designed to further stifle freedom of speech, and any vociferous criticisms of the sitting government or major corporations, just as Putin has done in Russia as illustrated by today’s physical violence by the Leviathan State against Liberty-Lover Kasparov. This latest assault on the Bill of Rights is called the “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007″, a bill so vague in its wordings that it would provide the same grounds for arrest as the British used against Mohandis Ghandi, during their criminal occupation of India. It could also be used to jail anyone who called for a boycott, or even advocated a “radical” vegan diet. This bill quietly passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 404 to 6 along with a handful of non-votes, during the Southern Cal fires that were all the rage at the time. It has still to pass the Senate. Silverwolf urges readers to see who voted for this bill, ostensibly designed to monitor the speech of violent Islamofascist groups, and anyone else who is attempting to incite to riot. He will find a roster of all the leading “liberal” candidates and stars of the Democratic Party, except for Rep. Kucinich, who seems to be one of the few in the party to understand the basic principles of American civics. Back in the 60’s, the Liberal Democrats would have been all over this Radicalization Bill as the anti-free speech legislation it is. It would have been viewed as an attempt by the Far-Right of those days to stifle any kind of speech that might be labelled “Communist”, like advocating Civil Rights for Blacks, or criticising the McCaren Act that excluded any foreigner who had ever said one complimentary thing about any leftist in his life. Now the modern Democrats are falling all over themselves, rushing to sign on to this neo-fascist legislation. They obviously are either so contemptibly scared of criticism that they don’t deserve to be in Congress, or don’t take their oath to uphold the Constitution seriously, or only care about getting that fat Congressional paycheck, with its fat Congressional benefits, and its lifetime fat Congressional pension, or they are so enfeebled in their understanding of American government that they are not fit to serve in Congress. The Commie Aparatchiks, with their dachas on the Black Sea, Johnny Walker Black Label, Marlboros, and whores: they are the exact same thing.
In stark contrast to this stands Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, candidate for the United States Presidency. He has voted against the two unpatriotic Patriot Acts, and the Military Commissions Act, and his non-vote on this latest travesty would almost certainly have been a No Vote if the necessities of campaigning in a country 3000miles by1500miles had not forced him to be absent. It would not have changed the outcome, but would have hurt his fledgling campaign. And he was using that time to repeat, over and over to the American public, that we don’t have to give up one scintilla of freedom or personal liberty to combat terrorism and have law and order, and we should not vote for, and should actively run against, any politician whose understanding of the Constitution is so feeble, that they cannot comprehend the basic concepts that should be known by every high school senior in America.
From the ’50’s and ’60’s on, America had groups that wanted the violent overthrow of the government, or just the overthrow of the Constitution and then rule under their form of despotism. The American Stalinist Communists, and just about every other American communist either prayed for (To Whom?) the violent overthrow of the goverment (By whom?) or at least the “burying” of American Capitalism under its own implosion (hadn’t Marx taught it was “inevitable”, so just kick back Comrade and wait — here, have one of my Marlboros), while Soviet Citizens would revel in a never ending wave of quality consumer goods, made by happy workers earning “just” wages. The final result was exactly the opposite, as we see in the modern Consumer Capitalist Society that is now the world society.
The American Nazis and the Klan in the 50’s and 60’s were also out to violently impose their will, and the antipathy towards censorship in the American Libertarian tradition, which made the government loathe to impose any restrictions on free speech, gave them a lot of latitude if they worded their attempts at inciting to riot in constitutionally protected speech. The Nazis, the Klan, and the Stalinists were dangerous. But American civil law, which had stood for 200 years rocksolid, never quivered under their threat, and maintained civil order while guaranteeing the Inalienable Rights of Man protected by the American Consitution.
But now the moral castrates in Congress are laying down as compliantly as the vague social-democrats did in the face of Hitler. The laws are on the books now for a new Hitler to throw the Jews, or any group he wants, into concentration camps, without any Right of Habeas Corpus. Only Representative Ron Paul, of the United States House of Representatives, is speaking out loudly and firmly to Lovers of the Constitution and the Rule of Law against these dangerous and Unconstitutional repressions, not the moral castrates of the U.S. Congress.
And in Russia, only Garry Kasparov, whom American Libertarians hereby designate as a “Father and Friend of Liberty”, is speaking out against the Fascist monster. They may beat you, Sir, but it will not be forgotten. In the end, you, and Liberty, and the American People, will win.
That is, if America elects Ron Paul.
Mr. Kasparov, this howl of Liberty is for you. Hoooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww. — Silverwolf
