Rita — Thanks for commenting. I am not saying Obama is a racist — personally I don’t believe he is, he’s too smart — but I think his associations with Sharpton, and his belonging to a church that gives its highest award to Farrakhan are completely contradictory. Instead of replying here more longwindedly, I would refer you to Silverwolf’s blog on “Ron Paul, Barack Obama, and Ray Taliaferro: Racism and Racism” for a full expository of my arguments.
Imagine if Dr. Paul were photographed embracing David Duke with big smiles on their faces. Imagine if the church he belonged were to give its “Man of the Year” award to George Wallace, when he was a segregationist, or Governor Awful Faubus, or George Lincoln Rockwell or Theodore Bilbo or Father Caughlin. Image if Dr. Paul’s church defined itself as a “White” church, just as Obama’s defines itself as a “Black church” and not only a Black church, but a “Black, middleclass, church”. I went to their website myself to check it out. Imagine if Dr. Paul belonged to a church that defined itself as not only “White” but also middle class. “Let’s keep that poor white trash outa here!” is what they’re really saying. And I always thought that Christianity, like the Libertarian Party, was a Big Tent affair.
Churchill said, have no contact with the Nazi. Racism (along with socialism) is one of the key elements of Nazi doctrine. Therefore, anyone who belongs to a “church” that holds such racist putrid doctrines, or is so blindly insensitive and stupid as to give its highest award to a racist jackanapes like Louis Farrakhan, certainly isn’t fit to be President of the United States.

I have trouble with your analogy of Rothmanns defense of Obama–
Just because the church Obama attends defends racist known people
doesn’t automatically make Obama or anyone else for that matter
a racist–
To me, any name calling “racist, Jew, oh my he’s a Catholic”
is meaning less–
I do like your blog very much, Silverwolf==Your writing and
your “take” on subjects is intelligent”you do your homework”
not mean either and there’s a certain gentleness I feel–

Timur — I just watched the debate bits of Dr. Paul. He was in good form, as usual. A prophet speaking truth to a nation that doesn’t want to hear it, while McCain and Willard Romney smirk in their embarrassment, as they have to sit there and be confronted by the contradictions of their positions. Timur — No, I haven’t seen it yet. Is that the LA Times one in Simi Valley at the “Reagan Library” — sounds like a non sequitor. Maybe I can find it online. I usually just watch the bits with Dr. Paul so I don’t puke. Are all the other politicians still dead, or have they come around yet? I did see a few of them flapping around, moving their lips, wallowing in their pens, so maybe they are alive still? Maybe Anderson Cooper studied with Leni Riefenstahl?
