Oregon State Measure 80 on Cannabis: A Libertarian Hobson’s Choice

November 3, 2012

Reading through the text of Oregon State Measure 80, the Measure that would de facto legalize cannabis in the State of Oregon, a Libertarian might be tempted to through up his arms in dismay, as he ploughs through the myriad conditions that will accrue if this bill is passed, from yet another State Commission, to a tax on medical cannabis sold through State-licensed pharmacies, to proceeds from the sale of this medicine ending up in state coffers. The complexity of the Measure will probably be a turn-off to anyone not having a personal stake in the issue, but the bill contains one revolutionary clause that is a Jeffersonian bomb thrown in the midst of a Fascist gathering: Section 474.065, Paragraph 3.

Section 474.065, Paragraph 3 may be the most Libertarian little phrase, at least in its effect, to quietly drop from the pen of a Hempster-Libertarian since Mayor Al Smith laid into the hated Prohibiton Laws when they were finally thrown in the gutter where they belonged. What this paragraph does is legalize the growing of cannabis for personal consumption without state interference from arrest or taxation. Those adults who want to use cannabis for any reason whatsoever, be it medicinal, philosophical or hedonistic, could now do so without the Fascist Miscreants of the State sticking their noses into the Individual’s private affairs. Those who need cannabis of a certain strength for serious medical conditions could buy it at state-licensed dispensaries, where they will pay through the nose but get what they need to alleviate their conditions. We don’t like the idea of the State being involved at all in a private citizen’s medical treatment, but if the State is going to certify the potency of various strains of medicinal cannabis, then it is appropriate that the state taxpayers be compensated for the associated costs. We think prices of $10/gram and up are outrageous for a plant that can be grown as prolificly as wheat or corn, but then the patient is still permitted, under Section 474.065 Paragraph 3, to grow his own without cost to himself, so there is an alternative.

One outrageous provision of the Measure, Section 474.155, would outlaw the consumption of cannabis in public, punishable by a $250 fine, with a few exceptions, like prominent signs permitting cannabis use in that area. We find this provision ludicrous in a society that is so permissive that it permits tobacco addicts to smoke in public streets, thereby assaulting the bodies (and the property rights vested in their bodies) of all passers-by, even children. And what of the medical cannabis user who must suddenly take a dose to alleviate spasms or pain while in a public place? Should they be made criminals and forced to pay such an outlandishly unfair fine?

And what of the homeless? Under this provision they will never be able to use cannabis if they wanted, since they are on public property virtually 100% of their time. They should not be denied the Right to use cannabis merely because they do not have the price of a domicile.

No, the correct course is to legalize usage in public as long as the smoke from the cannabis does not reach any unwilling citizen and assault their property right to not have their bodies invaded by anything, harmful or beneficial. It should be illegal to smoke cannabis within 100-200 yards of another person without their consent, just as it should be with tobacco, although the penalty for tobacco should also include jail time.

On the positive side, the Measure seems to tackle the question of what impairment, if any, cannabis causes, and its effect on drivers. It seeks to set standards through medical research, although, as an Anti-vivisectionist, Silverwolf hopes these studies will be carried out solely on human beings. It also sets a standard of presumed negligence in any accident that might occur involving impaired motorists prior to getting the results of the impairment research. And it also prohibits the trafficking of cannabis to minors, although we think the phrase should have read “delivery to minors”.

The Measure also rips apart the puerile restrictions on hemp farming which would quickly balloon into a huge industry if it were legalized. The American Communists of the Democratic and Republican Parties have certainly shot American Capitalism in the foot on this one. Only the Libertarians and Ron Paul Republicans have had the moxie to call for the legalization of hemp farming for the last few decades. The Commies have been winning so far.

Finally and remarkably, the Measure mentions the violations of Religious Liberty the Bipartisan Prohibitionists have inflicted on anyone who adheres to the values of the Old Testament, for in Genesis 1:29 it gives to all men the use of all herb-bearing seeds. This assault on Religous Liberty by the Communists will also be swept away if the Measure passes.

So, despite its flaws and its many bad points, Measure 80’s Libertarian Section 474.065 Paragraph 3, and its concern with establishing an impairment level, if any, justify a “Yes” vote. And that’s just how Silverwolf voted.

America: Democracy or Republic?

July 26, 2012

One of the most irritating propaganda ploys one constantly  hears on the Liberal and government media is that America is a “Democracy”. This inaccurate fallacy must be exposed.

America is not a “Democracy” because in a Democracy everyone votes on every piece of legislation, and there is not necessarily a Bill of Rights so that no Individual is truly safe against the aggressions of government. True “Democracy” is really mob-rule and is completely based on pragmatism, not morality.

Now some might say that we have a “Representative Democracy”, but a “Representative Democracy” is better known by its simpler name, a “Republic”. When people vote to choose a representative who then votes in a legislative assembly, then you have a “Republic”, but such a Republic also may not necessarily have a Bill of Rights. Fortunately, America’s Republic does.

So we are not a Democracy, like so many seem to easily say, but more accurately a Republic that uses the Democratic election process to choose its legislative representatives; a Republic, furthermore, that fortunately also has a Bill of Rights that is supposed to protect every Individual against totalitarian actions of the government and the majority. Jefferson and Madison knew how every government will tend to want to crush the Individual at some point, either for economic benefit, or because the Individual is using a Bill of Rights to stand in the way of some Unconstitutional or immoral action by the government (such as illegal search and seizure). And so Wisechief Jefferson, after years of study of the political science of his day and preceding centuries, much of it codified by Puffendorf, gave us that beautiful, wonderful American Bill of Rights, that was to eternally be a giant finger in the face of every Fascist fearmonger that was ever to come after.

Now, in a true Democracy with no Bill of Rights, that was based on the Pragmatic Principle of Jeremy Bentham which said that that action was correct which gave the greatest happiness to the greatest number of people — in such a Democracy any action would be possible. There would be no principles of morality involved, but only what would make the lives of the majority of people more commodious.

If such a Benthamite doctrine ruled over America, it would be quite possible, and quite within the rules of the law, for the 99% of the population who were not ethnically Armenian to decide that it would be in the interests of the vast majority of the population for all of the 1% who were Armenians to be killed and their property confiscated and re-distributed amongst the non-Armentian populace. 99% of the population would find there living standards increased, public services and infrastructure would now have 1% less to deal with, so the roads would be slightly less congested and social services costs would drop somewhat, and only a “mere 1%” would suffer a diminution in their “quality of life”.

The Jeffersonian Republic differs violently from this immoral Benthamite Democracy we have just portrayed. In the Jeffersonian Republic, the 1% Armenian swathe of the population could not be murdered and have their property confiscated, except in violation of the Bill of Rights and probably the Constitution.

But another aspect of this phony Liberal banging of the “Democracy” tambourine every time they get a chance is that we do not even have truly “Democratic” practices in our legislative assemblies and our elections. For example, why do these proselyters of Democracy tolerate the fact that  a 60% or 66% vote is necessary to override a veto at the state or federal level, or that many bond issues must pass by 60%, or that some measures will not be inacted into law if less that 50% of the eligible voters actually vote?  All three of these examples are egregious violations of true Democracy or majority rule, and if those who preach Democracy really believed in it, they would have overthrow these undemocratic voting practices in a month. But they have quietly tolerated them for decades. When 59 votes cannot override the veto of a Democratic President, you will never hear the Democrats say anything about the virtues of majority rule. In this case they trample on true Democracy with Reidy smiles and high-fives.

Furthermore, if Democracy is majority rule, then why is it possible for roughly only 50% of the population to vote in an election, and then for the winner of that election to get 45 to 50% of the cast votes, which means that he has been elected by about 25% of the eligible voters. If the praise singers of Democracy truly believed their words, why would that say that a President who is elected with roughly 25% of the eligible voters is a “Democratically elected” official? If they really believed in Democracy, they would require that every single eligible voter vote, but of course that would contravene our Constitutional guarantee against involuntary servitude. Yet, I’ve never heard any Democrat question the legitimacy of their Administration because President Obama was elected by a mid-20s percentage of all the eligible voters.

So next time you hear someone talking about the virtues and greatness of “Our Democracy”, know that you are listening to someone who is either profoundly ignorant of political science, or else is merely a propagandist, that lowest of all professions among your Human species, also known as “a Liar”.

Is it Time to Jail the Obese?

July 15, 2012

Silverwolf has been cogitating on the feasibility of jailing the obese.

He finds something very strange in the Obama Healthcare Mandate, which overturns the prohibition against involuntary servitude amongst other egregious Constitutional violations. It seems that we are told that we have a “responsibility” to purchase medical insurance or pay an outrageous tax or penalty, but the recipients of medical care seem to have no responsibility whatsoever in Obama’s view as to how their behaviour effects medical insurance costs and medical costs nationwide. Somehow tobacco addiction, obesity, and alcohol use are all forgotten about when the Democrats talk about “responsibility”, but clearly remembered when it comes to the normal weight tobacco- and alcohol- abstainer suddenly forking out hundreds of  extra dollars a month. Somehow these self-responsible folks suddenly have a “responsibility” when it comes to paying their neighbors medical bills for conditions brought on by tobacco and alcohol and obesity, but the “victims” of their own behaviour have no responsibility it seems as to the unneccesary medical costs which they inflict on society by their self-destructive behaviour. When we see the collective costs of medical care in America as a percentage of the GDP and the Federal Budget, we realise that the costs associated with tobacco, alcohol and obesity are helping to bankrupt the nation and consequently to undermine the U.S. Dollar. And with these costs in view, one could almost say that using tobacco and alcohol, or being obese constitute a type of Treason against America in that the individual is using the balance sheet of the U.S. Treasury and all U.S. Taxpayers to clean up the mess which their own behaviour has brought about.

The other day, Silverwolf was looking at a photo of the Class of 1992 from the local high school, probably in their late 30s by now. What was striking was that out of the 25 or so in the photo, only one person could said to be of normal weight, all the others being outright fat, or “thick”. Compare that to a photo of the Class of 76 in the high school annual of that annum. Almost all the girls where of normal weight, and amazingly cute, with only a couple of corpulent demoiselles in a class of 30.

Silverwolf puts this down to Bill Clinton’s patronizing of major junk food chain restaurants when he was a popular President, the corporate subsidies these corporations have received from the heinous Corporate-Communist Import-Export Loan program, and the proliferation of junk food sales at our government schools. But in a larger sense it is down to the merging of corporations and state in America, which has gone on apace with alacrity under both Democratic and Republican Administrations. No one in government will attack the junkfood industry, like Dairy Queen with her huge corporate interests backing the President and his tax confiscations.

So since Obama and the Democrats and the non-Ron Paul Republicans all want to continue to jail people for using cannabis medically or recreationally, and since our National Debt is so huge and is swelled so much by the Medicaid and Medicare use costs associated with tobacco, alcohol, and obesity, it seems to Silverwolf to be wholly in line with their bi-partisan beloved Fascist Prohibitionist system that we consider Silverwolf’s proposal to jail the obese or anyone more than 15% over their normal body weight as well as tobacco addicts and alcohol users in government “re-education” camps where they would not be released until they had achieved a “normal” weight according to government bureaucrats, or had achieved one year and one day of abstension from tobacco and alcohol.

Jailing the obese would have a profoundly beneficial effect on America’s annual medical care bill. It would lead to a strengthening of the U.S. Dollar, a much healthier population, and many fewer orphans.

The fact that it violates the Bill of Rights should not bother our friends on the Progressive Left since they fully believe in government intervention when the end effect is a pragmatic increase in the general level of well-being in society, the effects on Individual Rights and Liberty be damned. So there shouldn’t be much problem there.

It’s on the pseudo-Conservative wing of the Republicans that there might be more resistance. Obese Republican bourbon-swillers forced to forego their cigarettes for a year might be slightly irate, and try to raise issues like the supposed importance of the Bill of Rights, but those Individual Rights objections would be lightly swiped down by the Robert’s Corporate Socialist Supreme Court now that they’ve ruled that involuntary servitude is once again O.K. in America.

Of course Silverwolf would have to raise serious Libertarian objections to his own plan, such as the egregious violations of Natural Rights law such jailings would entail. But what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, and I guess if the public is going to continue to jail sick medical marijuana users or bankrupt them with their exorbitantly priced state pharmacy schemes, then Silverwolf will just have to go along with jailing the obese. That’s what the poll-going 25% of the possible electorate that put Obama in office seems to want, so it’s only just that jailing people for their unhealthy habits is also acceptable. according to the public’s vote.

Yes, jailing the obese is certainly a proposal whose time has come. It would save the nation a fortune.

And after the goals of this “corrective” program are achieved, perhaps we can move on to the meateaters.

The Obama Healthcare Ruling: America’s Second Townshend Acts

June 29, 2012

” The arrogant encroachments of the Townshend Acts immediately rekindled American resistance to British oppression.” — Prof. Murray N. Rothbard, “Conceived in Liberty, Vol. 3”

President Obama and his Democrats have sown the seeds for their own political destruction, as these millionaires pass their mandates on an increasingly terrified and angry populace. The Supreme Court Obamacare ruling will be their Achilles heel, and, from now on, they will face ever increasing difficulties, for they have mobilized a massive resistance to their re-election with this ruling, and literally millions of Americans are now wondering where they are going to get the extra after-tax money to pay these huge monthly premiums on policies with huge deductibles that afford little protection. The blood-pressure levels in America must have risen exponentially overnight as a new dose of Obama-worry shortens her inhabitant’s lifespans. More worries for the businessman, and more worries for the worker who might now be laid off. Yet unseen are the worries of the unemployed worker who now will not get hired because of the new insurance costs for the small businessman. The lowered employment this act will lead to will not be measured or reported statistically, but it will show up when the “experts” are once again surprised at why the unemployment rate stays stubbornly high. They will not mention Obamacare.

But all this uncertainly will lead to one effect: millions of Americans who were not affected by the individual mandate and its ensuing tax penalty, and who were comparatively indifferent to whether Obama or Romney or Johnson got elected, will now be passionately concerned who the next President will be because it will mean the difference between paying a huge monthly extortion to a private insurance company, or paying a huge monthly extortion to the federal government, or paying no extortion at all. These people will suddenly have a great incentive to vote for Romney, since a vote for him will now be equated with a vote against Obamacare and the mandate-tax. These independents and “indifferanti” will now become firm Romney supporters just because they are afraid of falling into poverty due to this outrageous impost of the Federal Government, the Obama Administration, and Congress. Voting for Romney will be seen in the same light as the Revolutionary Colonist’s agreeing to their non-importation boycotts of British goods after the heinous imposition of the Townshend Acts by the then-reigning Obama, King George III and his Tories in Parliament. Obama, Pelosi and Reid have sown the political wind, and now they are going to reap, politically speaking, an Arkansaw twister.

All this is probably bad news for Gary Johnson’s campaign. Johnson would also get rid of this obvious start of a deeply Communistic America, run by the corporations and the big-government Dems and Repubs, which is almost all of them. Those considering a principled, ethical, vote for Johnson, to avoid blood on their hands and soul, may now be stampeded towards Romney out of pure fear of the slaughterhouse. The millionaire lawyers in Congress and the White House, who have made their large fortunes by flapping their lips in Congress, after making small fortunes getting paid for flapping their lips in Government Universities and Colleges, are so out of touch with the anxiety of the slightly upper-middleclass fulltime worker or self-employed that they have no idea what they have just done to themselves.

Not only that. The Medicaid expansion to those States that have embraced Obamacare (usually with Democratic Governors) will give a huge boost to the dis-incentive to work that this provision will create. For those in the $50-60k/yr range, it may pay to drop out entirely, and let Medicaid pay or largely subsidize their premiums, rather than work 8-5, five days a week, just to pay the monthly cash tribute to the Obama-Buffett insurance companies and banks, money that could have been used for sound vegan food to try to preserve their health in this brutal, bureaucratic world that Obama has solidified during his rule. This Medicaid provision may work, much as Rothbard pointed out the Guaranteed Annual Income would work, in killing the incentive to work, so that more and more of the population would drop out, and live on the Guaranteed Annual Income and free medical care provided by the taxes of the fewer and fewer workers, while the deficit spending this would require would continue to degrade and inflate the currency, so that the annual inflation rate would rise as would the annual COLA (cost of living increase), thus forcing the raising of the Guaranteed Annual Income at a faster and faster annual rate, until the currency completely collapsed from hyperinflation. This will occur now that this provision has become law.

The coming end to the Bush tax cuts, the higher cost of hiring with Obamacare, and the huge incentive now for the lower middle-class to drop out — all these will greatly worsen the economy which is already in depression. But Obama and his Queen Pelosis, living in their Washington Irondome, don’t have the economic imaginations to forsee all this. As Hayek pointed out, in all bureaucracies there is a marked tendency for the mediocre to rise to the top. Holder, Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Romney.

Nor has Obama learned anything from Maggie Thatcher. You’d think  politicians would remember the same mistakes that King George III and Thatcher made, but Obama proves that they often don’t. Now, you remember how Mrs. Thatcher was riding high in British politics; the unions had had their testimonials cut off by the Iron Lady; the economy was ebullient; and her popularity was high. And then she threw a spanner in the works: her poll tax.

The poll tax, because it affected every single member of the British populace, suddenly brought home the meaning of taxation to the millions of Britains who didn’t have to pay tax and never dreamed they would. The rage and opposition was immediate, much like the rage and opposition Silverwolf read on the internet yesterday, after this infamous ruling by SCOTUS. Thatcher’s popularity plunged, and the opposition to her rule grew suddenly vociferous. It was the Iron Lady’s downfall.

Now Obama and his girls in Congress have rammed through this outrageous depredation on the economic security of millions of Americans, and made it a life-or-death issue for every American while throwing millions into economic insecurity overnight, they are going to face the concerted might of an incensed huge majority. It’s 1768 all over again.

The Gulag East and West: Two Libertarian Jokes

June 5, 2012

There were three prisoners sitting in their cell in Stalin’s Communist Gulag. To pass the time, they asked each other why they were there.

“I always got to work late”, the first prisoner said, “so they accused me of parasitism.”

The second prisoner explained, “I always got to work early, so they accused me of brownnosing to gain favors.”

The third prisoner went on, “I always got to work exactly on time, so they accused me of owning a Western watch.”

While this was going on, there were three prisoners sitting in the Obama Gulag for Anti-trust Capitalists in Northern Maine. They got talking and asked each other what they’d been accused of.

The first said, “I charged above the average market price, so the Feds accused me of price-gouging.”

The second prisoner explained, “I charged below the market price, so they charged me with cut-throat competition and unfair trade practices.

The last prisoner went on, “I charged exactly the same as everybody else, so they charged me with collusion and price-fixing.”

Under Communism, anyone they want to make guilty, they can make guilty.

President Obama: He’s Right and Wrong on Libya

March 24, 2011

Silverwolf is exceedingly glad that the British, French, and Americans read his last blog, recommending air action against Muther Qaddafi in order to avert huge massacres of civilians. Within twelve hours, they were following his advice, although he did state that America should not participate, due to the hatred felt towards her in the Middle East. America’s comparative silence in the face of daily massacres of peaceful protesters in virtually every Arab and Gulf capital is probably regarded as the usual way things run by the man in the Arab Street, and our hypocrisy in acting on Libya, but doing nothing about Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Human Rights Atrocities, not to mention our long support for Torturer Mubarak, shows how much the Administration “really cares about people”. We said that Britain, France, the Arab League, and those responsible for economically propping up Qaddafi, like Italy and Germany, were the forces that should be the ones engaged in overthrowing this Miscreant and Mass Murderer and Torturer, but that Silverwolf would not object if America joined in the force, either alone or through NATO, for he holds that genocide or mass murder of civilian populations are the responsibility of all Libertarians on the face of the Earth. However, when we talk of regimes that are comparatively mildly repressive (say, a regime that jailed political dissidents but did not engaging in murder or torture) then holding off on military action that could cost the lives of thousands of innocent soldiers and civilians versus a wait of a few years for a regime to economically crumble or internally reform may be a far better way to go. But in cases of outright genocide and mass murder of civilian populations  like Germany, Uganda, Turkey, Rwanda, Cambodia, Bosnia, Darfur-Sudan, the shelling of Sarajevo, and Qaddafi’s War on Libya’s Youth, it clearly is better for the individuals being murdered if the world intervenes and saves their lives, rather than standing around with its thumb up its ear.

Silverwolf believes that Jefferson’s Constitution was meant as a blueprint for all Mankind, and all civil governments, and he thinks that Jefferson believed these Rights he reserved for men were Universal Natural Rights, and not just confined to those living on the American continent.

Where the President is wrong on Libya is simply that he did not go to Congress for a Declaration of War, and even if he had, there is no obvious way that Libya is a threat to the borders of the United States, or her sovereignty, and so, even if the President had gone to Congress for a Declaration, he should not in theory have been given it. Ron Paul is absolutely right when he says that the President should have gone to  Congress for a Declaration, and that he, Ron Paul,  would have voted against it. Britain, France and NATO, as well as the big commercial backers of Libya like Italy and Germany, along with the Arab League, were the ones who really had the immediate responsibility for the mess in the neighborhood, and they certainly have the financial resources to carry out an operation. They could also enlist and organize into a fighting force any Libertarian-inclined freedom fighters in the area who want to help liberate Libya from Qaddafi. This would have been much more practical than having America overthrow its Constitution yet once again with the unConstitutional “War Powers Act”. And the damage done to the principle of the President consulting with Congress for this most grave move is far greater than any kudos America might earn in the eyes of the North African Youth for joining in the coalition. Once again President Obama has punched the U.S. Constitution in the face.

So, in sum, we are glad that the international coalition has got the lead out of its elbow and acted to prevent mass murder, at least in Benghazi. But we are very disappointed, though not surprised, that the President has, once again, trashed the Constitution and the principle of American non-interventionism unless our borders are under immediate threat

Heap not a furnace for your foe so hot that it do singe yourself.

NATO Fiddles While Qaddafi Burns

March 17, 2011

The namby-pamby whimps of NATO and the UN are once again flapping their lips in useless impotence, as the War Criminal Mahmzer Qaddafi continues to burn and murder the Youth of Libya. Just as the Old Ladies of the League of Nations were impotent in the face of Fascist Murder when the War Criminal Mussolini was butchering the Ethiopians in the days of Haile Selassie,  we can see that, 80 years later, the old Castrati politicians and the Immorality of Northern Europe and the Arab League have not changed one iota.

The Libertarian Revolution in Libya is being left to flaunder by the regimes that were supposedly founded on Libertarian Revolutions — Cromwellian England, post-Bourbon France, and post-Georgian America. And now all three stand by and have all the potency of a Mrs. Clinton and Mrs. Merkel and Ms. Gizzard-Down-Under, in the face of the “nos” of Valery Puta, and the Dictator and Occupier of Tibet.  The Children of Libya are being abandoned to a cruel death when, if the politicians were so to choose,  the Harrier-Hawkers and Mirages of Britain and France could strike a blow for Liberty in a few short hours that would redound through the centuries. But the “great Democracies” are ruled by gutless politicians, not Libertarians bent on extending the Cromwellian and French Revolutions, not to mention the Jeffersonian Revolution, to all of Mankind.

Early in the American Revolution, Jefferson and his cohorts discussed the necessity of attempting to procure foreign assistance and backing in their fight for Independence. Those who always mention the Forefathers warning against entangling alliances, fail to mention that America was not shy is seeking to secure such foreign succor and assistance in her battle for Independence. Now that other peoples are crying out for Jeffersonian Liberty, it seems only fair that America should provide what support it can (short of direct military intervention, given how much it is reviled in the North African and Arab worlds, due to the $100s of billions in aid its Liberal Democrats have given to the Arab Fascist Regimes). Such intervention should be left up to the chief proppers-up of the War Criminal Qaddafi (remember Chad?), the European and Arab powers who have forged the closest economic ties with the Butcher of Benghazi.

Silverwolf hopes the Euro-whimps, and the NATO Castrati, will finally get their fingers out of their earholes and do something to help Liberty triumph in North Africa, instead of their usual do-nothing tongue exercises while massacres are taking place. Diplomacy may be about expensive bottled water, catered dinners, and “frank discussions”, for the well-paid, well-fed diplomats, but for the thousands with untreated wounds in Libya, or the tens of thousands cowering in fear in their hovels, because of the violence of one Fascist Miscreant and his Mercenaries in the face of a Castrated World, — for them, diplomacy is a matter of Life and Death. And it seems that the Euro-pigs have left the Youth of Libya to the latter.

What is happening in Libya is the responsibility of the Europeans, of all Libertarians, and of all Human Beings. NATO and America should not stand by idly fiddling while the Miscreant and Criminal Moammar Qaddafi burns the Youth of Libya.

If Qaddafi re-instates his Reign of Terror, then please remember the names and faces of the countries and politicians who did not act. Their names and nations will live long in the annals of historical infamy.

The Brushfires of Liberty will Liberate Libya yet.

America’s Day of Infamy: The Administration Welcomes a Dictator

January 19, 2011

American Libertarians can only hang their heads in shame, as they see the highest representatives of a government they didn’t vote for greet the head of the world’s largest dictatorship. It is a black spot indeed on the national honor, and we should not forget that it is “Liberal Democrats”, people who supposedly hold the rights of the little guy and the working man as sacrosanct, and who consistently market themselves as moral, principled people, who are the exact ones who are greeting the Dictator, and thus legitimizing and enabling the continuation of one of the world’s most despicable dictatorships. Murder, torture, religious prosecution, horrible exploitation of both workers and animals, kangaroo capital punishment courts, sale of body parts for profit: the list of crimes committed by the Red Chinese government gangsters is legion. How many innocent people and young soldiers did they kill in their wars against Vietnam and India?; how many Tibetan priests did they murder and torture? And have they ever been forced to return the booty they have looted in Tibet?

None of these issues seemed to deter the immoral triumvirate of Obama, Biden, and Clinton, from welcoming the head of this gangster regime to Washington, and forcing moral Americans to have to waste their taxpayer dollars in the purchase of Chinese flags, red carpet treatment, and elaborate dinners for the head of the torture gang.

Yet one does not see thousands of Liberal Democrats in the streets of our major cities, protesting against this crime against the spirit of the U.S. Constitution, and everything that Jeffersonian Republicanism stands for: due process of law, and the inalienable Rights of the Individual to be free of state tyranny, the exact antithesis of that State which Obama and Biden have legitimized on this Black Day for America.

During the mid-30s, Hitler’s greatest fear was that a boycott or embargo could have been passed by Congress which would have cut off American investment and contact with Nazi Germany. No boycott was instigated; America went to the Munich Olympics in 1936, thus legitimizing a torturing regime that engaged in religious persecution just as Red China does. And the rest is history.

Silverwolf would put it to you that America should treat Red China just as it should have treated Nazi Germany during the 30s, by a complete boycott and cutting off of all government recognition, a repudiation of all U.S. Government Bonds held by the Red Chinese regime, and withdrawal of immoral Most Favored Nation trading status granted to China, instigated under the Clinton Administration.

American and Jeffersonian Political Ideals are not just some toilet paper to be used to wipe up the scat of Fascism. In welcoming the Miscreant Criminal Hu, the Obama Administration has reduced those Ideals to such a state.

And Jefferson is cursing in his grave.

The Human Beings’ Finest Hour: Britain Bans Fox Hunting

January 1, 2011

Silverwolf has been commissioned by the Wolfmen’s Institute, due to his remarkable longevity (362 years and going strong) and the brilliance of his literary style, to write a historical review of what he would consider as the greatest achievement of the late, great, Human Race, extinct exactly 100 years now, in this year of 2288.

After pondering long and hard, and even on a midnight dreary, he finally came up with Man’s greatest accomplishment in the waning centuries of this peculiar and singular species, though it was hard to choose between this and the campaigns of 2008 and 2012 of Congressman Ron Paul, a last gasp desperate attempt by Jeffersonian lovers of Republican Civil Rights, administered by a system of democratic election, to wrest power from the Collectivist and Statist forces that had pretty much pushed around the world for the previous 100 years and before. Sometimes those forces were individuals; sometimes they were blocks, based on industry, profits, or more rarely ideology. Paul’s candidacy, and the feeble Libertarian flame that flickered and was quickly doused by the Democrat-Republican mainstream bi-partisan necrosis, marked the last expression of political liberty in the history of the human race. From Jefferson to the French Revolution and back to Pelosi-McConnellism all in 200 short years, after tens of thousands of years of human tyranny and bullyboys ruling the roost. Too bad.

Besides the Paul campaign, the only remarkable achievement of man since Antonioni shot “The Red Desert” in the early 60s, was the banning of fox hunting in Great Britain, which took place on February 18, 2005, and it is this event, rather than the Paul campaign or the Antonioni masterpiece, that marks the Zenith of Human Kind, in Silverwolf’s opinion; from thence it was all downhill for the “hairless ape”.

Not that the ban was easy to get through. It was passed by the House of Commons, but modified and in effect nullified by the House of Lords. This happened twice in late 2004, and the arm-wrestling continued in the courts until the High Court ruled that the Parliamentary act was not unconstitutional, paving the way for implimentation.

‘ Course, the sadists were given exemptions: they could still hunt foxes with birds of prey, or use two dogs to flush them out, after which they could be shot.

The digusting politician Blair admitted in an interview with Bloomberg News, that he had tried to sabotage the very bill which he and his party were putting forth in Parliament. What an honest politician!

But the sabotage failed, and the ban still had widespread support in Britain, even as late as 2011, showing that many Human Beings there were still opposed to Blood Sport, even though they routinely ate meat. It shows that the basic sentiment of people in the “social democracies” was fairly decent, though not enough to make them give up their “bangers and mash” or fish and chips. Nor was it uniform, as nearly 30% continued to favor terrorizing a little fox, and then having it pulled apart live by wild dogs, a fate which Silverwolf doubts any of those participating in the sadistic exercise would wish visited on themselves or their children. Silverwolf has met little foxes. They’re nice, as long as they don’t eat the cats.

Of course the three unharnessables finally brought down the Homo Sapiens, whom we Silverwolves call Saps for short: the nuclear proliferation of materials, the climatic wobblies, and the nannobot unions.

Fortunately the nukes didn’t go off in time, before Mankind was wiped out. That would have taken all us Silverwolves with them, and we’d have had to go back to the cockroach brain to start the evolutionary process again, instead of the highly sophisticated cerebellum of the Silverwolf. So that saved G-d a lot of misery and evolutionary work. Whew!

With the climate they weren’t so fortunate. Whether the debate was that the earth was heating up or cooling down, the fact was that the summers were getting hotter and hotter, and the winters were getting colder and colder. And more and more humans were getting wiped out due to the weather, and the increased demands on the retiree’s support system as the population aged. The politicians vowed they’d never ration care, as the politicians rationed care. And the elderly populations of Japan, Australia, America, Canada, Russia and the “Republics”, and Europe plunged, year after year.

Of course this led to the final catastrophe, the Great Flu Epidemic of 2188, where the flu was so widespread that the government negotiated with the Nannobot’s Union for a higher mils per hour minimum wage, in exchange for working overtime. Unfortunately, the little workaholic buggers, when introduced into the human bloodstream, tended to replicate themselves so thoroughly that the human soon became nothing but a pile of nannobot goo, resembling a large mound of gray, rotting mushrooms.

And that’s how this both noble and ignoble race or species met its undigified end; a sad conclusion to an experiment that G-d thought would supply a drab earth (intellectually speaking) with a little salty cerebral sophistication. Well, at least He doesn’t have to go back to the cockroach, thanks to our wolfen survival.

And no Governor of Alaska will be gunning us Silverwolves down from helicopters ever again.

The FED Violates Vegan Rights, and Everybody Elses Too

December 2, 2010

Thanks to Congressman Ron Paul’s persistent calls for auditing the FED, and FED transparency, the Federal Reserve today reluctantly disclosed the roster of names of institutions it had made loans to. It was not a pretty picture.

For not only had the FED loaned money to U.S. banks, as one would have imagined the FED should be limited to by common sense and by law, but it had also loaned money to McDonalds, hedge funds, and even foreign Swiss banks, as well as a massive loan to Pimco, which obviously undermines the validity in the minds of investors of any pronunciamentos coming from the famous names at that company. Bloomberg News even mentions a loan to an individual, Michael Dell.

Quite apart from the unfairness of this process, and the massive danger this precedent creates for the future of Capitalism in America, since now any Socialist government in America can merely call on its FED to restore “order to the markets” by massively intervening to produce profits for those companies given the blessing of any future Communistic or Fascist regime, this proposal is also a slap in the face to American Vegetarians and Vegans, as well as the Hindu-American Community,  who are being forced, through the FED, to support a company which they feel great moral revulsion towards, and which they ardently hope will go belly-up. They may even intentionally boycott all the non-meat products of this company, in order not to give it any profits whatsoever, and thus hasten its demise.  But here comes the Federal Reserve, bailing out one of the cruelest and most ecologically-destructive companies in America (in Silverwolf’s opinion) against the moral values of those who are forced, through their taxes, to supply the money the FED throws at these companies. This is all deeply immoral, and totally contrary to the concept of Government which Thomas Jefferson held. Just as we need a complete separation of Church and State, so we also need a complete separation of Economy and State, with the one exception of when people are actually starving in the streets.

Those who thought that Congressman Ron Paul’s warnings against Federal Reserve shenanigans were a little extreme, are finding out that they were not extreme at all, but highly accurate, once again showing that Congressman Paul is probably the wisest Congressman in the Congress, in terms of his grasp of economics, American history, and political theory. Virtually all the politicians in Congress are just that: brainwashed and lazy politicians who are working for their lobbyists and their own bank accounts and retirement funds; very few have the energy to study and come to understand the three subjects which a great American statesman must master: economics (and not the Keynesian kind), American history, and Jeffersonian political theory. Virtually everything Congressman Paul had predicted for the Obama years has come true, with the exception of the collapse of the dollar. And that may still occur.

Whether you feel the FED should be abolished, like the Austrian School of Economics and the Mises Institute do, or whether you are a Keynesian who things the FED just needs to be “reformed”, you must acknowledge the outrageousness and danger of what the FED did with these loans. After looking at the roster, we can all commiserate much more fully with Congressman Paul’s repeated warnings.

And the Federal Reserve owes Hindu-Americans an apology.
