Libertarians Crush The Democrats in Florida Special Election

Few political pundits recall that it was Dionysius of Halicarnassus who said that “history is philosophy teaching by example”. Certainly few Democratic pundits remembered that adage, so they were surprised by their very significant defeat in the Florida Special Election for the House last week. Had they realized the hatred of American Individualists for a constant barrage and assault on their personal energies in order to fulfill unConstitutional demands inflicted on them by the State, they might have anticipated the results. But they were obviously fooling themselves.

The Democrats lost, not because of the Republicans, but because of the Libertarian vote for Lucas Overby, which came in at 4.8%. This was two and two-thirds as much as the difference between the Democrats and Republicans, and unusually high for a Libertarian candidate, who normally garner 1-2% of the vote, though there have been a few cases where they topped 5%. This shows that the work of Libertarian writers and thinkers, along with the campaign ideas of Ron Paul, and combined with the obvious incompetence of the Democrats in everything they touch, has brought a lot of people to see the necessity of voting Libertarian. Additionally, we’d guess that a lot of younger voters, who voted for Obama, now realized they voted for a propagandized Image who has burdened them with trillions of new dollars of debt, imposed a healthcare mandate on them that will take most of their spare cash for years to come if they have any kind of decent income, and made it even harder for poor youths to get any kind of work through jacking up the minimum wage law. We’d bet a lot of these former Obama voters just didn’t turn up, or moved over to the true Classical Liberalism of the Libertarians. Obama’s enforcement of the pot laws, in the face of so many states legalizing it, or semi-legalizing it, shows the Youth better than anything else what an old reactionary fogey is the President.

And even the Republicans were scared. The Libertarian Frankenstein which Ron Paul sowed together and revivified has stormed out of the castle and is terrorizing the political landscape all over America, and the Republican’s even had to have Senator Rand Paul call in his support for candidate Jolly, the very son of the man who energized that Frankenstein. Both the Republicans and the Democratic peasants were out with their flaming flambeaus, looking for the giant who might topple them. The fact that the Libertarian got 266% of the difference between the Republican winner and the Democratic loser must scare the hell out of both parties, and you can bet they’ll start to incorporate some of Libertarian rhetoric in their speeches, since they are both parties of conforming lemmings, with political dogmas and image-making based on false, un-Jeffersonian, ideologies.

It was also clear they were scared from the fact that the media made little or no mention of the unusually high Libertarian vote, not wanting to call attention to the fact, which attention might serve to make it “cool” to vote Libertarian.

Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson got roughly 1% of the vote in 2012. A Libertarian gets almost 5% in a bellweather House election in 2014. It shows you what 17 months of big State Socialism does to people’s psyches.

This is just the beginning.
